With a popular franchise under their belt and worldwide fame, the celebrities who star in The Twilight Saga are perhaps the most popular faces in the world right now. But what about their work outside of the phenomenon? These actors and actresses have been involved in wonderful projects in the past and they have some films lined up in the future.
Kristen Stewart: Bella Swan
Kristen Stewart has been in the business longer than people realize. In 2002, when she was just 12 years old, Stewart starred in Panic Room as Jodie Foster’s daughter. In 2004, Stewart earned Sundance Film Festival status when she starred as the mute outcast Melinda Sordino in Speak. A couple years later in 2007, Stewart had a part in the two-time Academy Award winning film Into the Wild directed by Sean Penn. Next on her plate is On the Road, about a young man who travels throughout America.
Robert Pattinson: Edward Cullen
Not only is Robert Pattinson involved in a mega-blockbuster series now, but before Twilight, Pattinson was involved in another franchise, playing the fan-favorite character Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Next on the star’s to do list: Bel Ami, about a man’s rise to power in Paris through the manipulation of women alongside Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman. And Pattinson will re-team with Reese Witherspoon (he was uncredited in the 2004 film Vanity Fair) in Water for Elephants, about a young man who joins a traveling circus.
Taylor Lautner: Jacob Black
Virtually unknown until Twilight catapulted him into hot-shirtless-guy fame, Taylor Lautner has had minor roles on various television shows and was mostly in family-friendly programming. After he earned his celebrity-status, Lautner starred in the film starring a cluster of famous people, Valentine’s Day. Next up for the Twilight hunk: the thriller Abduction, about a young man who finds his baby picture on a missing persons website.
Anna Kendrick: Bella’s Friend Jessica
If starring in the Twilight Saga isn’t enough of a success, the versatile actress, was nominated for an Academy Award for her character portrayal in Up in the Air. Before all her recent success, Kendrick had very minor roles in very lesser-known films. Her next move: starring opposite Michael Cera in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World coming out August 13th and a role in an upcoming Seth Rogen project.
Jackson Rathbone: Jasper Cullen
Like many other actors, Twilight has boosted Jackson Rathbone’s career a considerable amount. Rathbone had many stints in television playing minor characters in various shows, and even starring in his own show, “Beautiful People.” Rathbone is starring in The Last Airbender, opening the weekend after The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s release.
Ashley Greene: Alice Cullen
Twilight has worked in the young actresses favor, before the film, Ashley Greene played very minor roles, after the film she landed a part in the small movie Skateland. Next up is three movies set to be released in 2011: Butter opposite Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Garner, Warrior with her Twilight co-star Kellan Lutz, and the horror film The Apparition.
Kellan Lutz: Emit Cullen
Kellan Lutz is a fan of the horror genre, appearing in 2008’s Prom Night, Ghosts of Goldfield in 2007, and A Nightmare on Elm Street in 2010. Next up for the hotshot, the romantic comedy Love, Wedding, Marriage, the action/thriller The Killing Game, and playing Poseidon in Immortals.
Dakota Fanning: Jane
She has been a box office staple since she was just five years old and has starred with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including I Am Sam with Sean Penn, Man on Fire with Denzel Washington, War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, and Hide and Seek with Robert De Niro. Recently, she starred with Kristen Stewart in the rock biopic, The Runaways, and thus far, the young actress has nothing in production.
