Enter the Fat Dragon

Enter the Fat Dragon is a hilarious chronicle of the events that transformed super-fit super-cop Fallon Zhu (martial arts phenom Donnie Yen) into a glorified records clerk with a major snack cake habit. After a desperate request from an old colleague, Zhu teams up with a wily, wok-wielding restaurateur to solve a mysterious murder and take his one last shot at regaining both his job and his fiancée.

Directed by: Kenji Tanigaki
Starring: Donnie Yen, Niki Chow, Teresa Mo, Jing Wong

VHYes

A bizarre retro comedy shot entirely on VHS video, VHYES takes us back to a simpler time, when twelve-year-old Ralph mistakenly records home videos and his favorite late-night shows over his parents wedding tape. The result is a nostalgic wave of home shopping clips, censored pornography, and nefarious true-crime tales that threaten to unkindly rewind Ralph s reality.

Directed by: Jack Henry Robbins
Starring: Kerri Kenney, Thomas Lennon, Mark Proksch

Castle in the Ground

Henry, is a caretaker more than teenager, of himself, his home, but most importantly of his chronically ill single mother. His girlfriend is leaving for college, and his ascetic Jewish relatives and their obligatory condolences frustrate more than comfort. When his mother finally passes, Henry is left without purpose, alone for the first time with a crippling grief, and struggling with the knowledge that he was complicit in his mother’s drug-induced death. The only person in his life that isn’t placating to his loss is his loud, subversive yet charismatic neighbor Ana, who lives across the hall and is trying to kick her own drug habit. He quickly becomes attached to Ana, who fills the void his late mother left, and simultaneously stumbles into the world of opioids, becoming entangled in a web of violence, crime, and addiction.
