Chivas Regal Announces The First Chivas Master

American bartender, Masahiro Urushido, has been revealed as Chivas Regal’s first ever Chivas Master, winning the iconic whisky brand’s inaugural bartender competition in style at the NoMad hotel in New York (15th July 2014).

Urushido was announced as the winner following a tightly-contested final which saw him impress an international panel of judges with his ‘The New Pal’ cocktail to secure victory over the 12 other international competitors. He wins the opportunity to work in partnership with Dave Arnold, inventor and co-founder of Booker and Dax, a food science development company and lab dedicated to finding solutions to real world food, beverage and cooking issues. The partnership will see Urushido and Arnold collaborating on an inspirational concept which will be revealed at the next Chivas Masters final in 2015.

Mark Ruffalo the new Hulk?

Reports are flying that Mark Ruffalo is in talks to play the Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movie…

Rumor has it that the casting isn’t a done deal yet, but he the only guy Marvel Studios is considering right now. Mark’s latest film, The Kids Are All Right due out this Friday, is already getting some award buzz for his role.

Last weekend HitFix reported that Edward Norton would not be reprising his role as the hulk. A nasty game of verbal ping-pong between a Marvel Studios exec and Norton’s agent ensued.

Ruffalo certainly wasn’t an obvious choice for the action-flick considering most of his work has been more of an artsy type, including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Brothers Bloom and Zodiac. Maybe it is now time for a change.

Nolan’s mindbending new thriller ‘Inception’ looks to be a smash hit

The movie that will build the most hype this week by far is Christopher Nolan’s “Inception”. No movie in Hollywood history has created more mystery than Nolan’s film. He kept everything a secret until the last minute.

Here is what we know about the plot so far: Leonardo Dicaprio plays Dom Cobb, a “dream thief” who steals peoples’ ideas in their sleep. The consequence of living this lifestyle of crime is he has become a fugitive and he has lost everything he loves. To get his life back, he has to do one last job, plant an idea in someone’s head. Meanwhile, the enemy is on hot pursuit and Dom faces overwhelming odds. He must achieve the impossible to survive.

GQ Comedy Issue

GQ’s Comedy Issue is simply hilarious and getting better every year. Senior editor Dan Fierman says that it is the first of this series in which they tried to make the entire issue about comedy. They got a huge interview with the elusive Bill Murray and worked with Aziz Ansari, Mel Brooks, Louis C.K., Joan Rivers, Donald Glover, Gary Shandling and others as well as, of course, the cover subjects: Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis and Tracy Morgan. The Comedy Issue will be on stands nationwide on July 20th.

Mario Lopez Getting New Reality Show

Mario Lopez is will be getting his own reality show on VH1.

The untitled docusoap will star Lopez and girlfriend Courtney Mazza as they prepare for the birth of their first child. The show will chronicle Lopez adjusting to being a father as he balances his workload hosting the syndicated “Extra” and MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew.”

VH1 has ordered eight half-hour episodes of the series, which will premiere in the fall. Cris Abrego for 51 Minds Entertainment will executive produce with Lopez and Mark Schulman. Olde, Jill Holmes and Kristen Kelly are executive producers for VH1.
